Samsung Galaxy M-series smartphones, the new models which have been designed to take on the Chinese rivals, are being teased on Amazon.in. The online marketplace recently featured a microsite that confirmed the presence of an Infinity-V Display on Samsung’s upcoming lineup. The Galaxy M lineup will apparently include three distinct models, and they have been named as the Galaxy M10, Galaxy M20, and Galaxy M30. Samsung will reportedly launch the Galaxy M-series models in India at a price as low as Rs. 9,500. The formal launch of the Galaxy M series has been set as January 28th for India.
Among other specifications, the dedicated microsite on Amazon.in confirmed that Samsung will feature an Infinity-V Display panel on the Galaxy M-series smartphones. This type of display panel will have a cutout for the selfie camera which is similar to the trending waterdrop-style notch, and this was announced by Samsung during their Samsung Developer Conference (SDC) in November.
In addition to this new type of display, one of the three Galaxy M-series smartphones will probably have a dual rear camera setup. The listing on Amazon.in confirmed that a fingerprint sensor will be available at the back of at least one the new models. It is also being speculated that the new models will have a large battery pack and it might support three times faster charging, but it isn’t clear which model/battery life this is being compared to.
The renders that were seen on the Amazon.in microsite showed room for a USB Type-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a bottom-placed loudspeaker grill. The new models are also touted to have a “powerful processor”, but the specifications regarding the SoC and the clock speed of the CPU haven’t been revealed yet.
The Galaxy M series has also been featured on the Samsung India site. On Monday, Samsung confirmed about the availability of the new models on Amazon.in and its official online store. The South Korean giant, in essence, plans to target the upcoming phones at young millennial consumers in the country.
On Monday, during a press note, the company said thus- “Samsung’s new range of Galaxy M smartphones will have a powerful display, powerful camera, powerful battery and a powerful processor which will help the smartphones deliver power-packed performance for young millennials.”
The Galaxy M-series smartphones will be launched on January 28th in India. Last week, an IANS report said that the new range of phones will come at a starting price of Rs. 9,500. Various benchmark listings and online reports have been leaked which showed the development of the Galaxy M-series smartphones in the past.
Last year, reports suggested that Samsung planned to replace their Galaxy J-series lineup with the Galaxy M range. The new range is rumored to have a variety of options such as AMOLED and LCD display panels and up to 128GB of onboard storage options.
