Realme will soon be seen expanding its portfolio by adding a new product, the Realme 3. The Oppo-spinoff has four models in its lineup for now, and this includes the Realme U1₹ 11,999, Realme 2₹ 10,249, Realme 2 Pro₹ 13,990, and the Realme C1. Along with the successor to the Realme 2, Realme has been planning to launch a 48-megapixel camera phone as well. This new model might be a tough competitor to the Redmi Note 7 which was recently launched in China and even this phone has a 48-megapixel camera sensor. Companies like Motorola and Huawei have also been prepping to please their customers with their 48-megapixel camera phones.
Reports suggested that the Realme 3 will see the light of the day in this quarter. The CEO Madhav Sheth didn’t reveal the price or the specifications of their new flagship. But revealed that the company is working on a 48-megapixel camera phone separately.
Realme phones might be similar to the Redmi Note 7. The Redmi Note 7 launched earlier this week as the first model of the ‘Redmi by Xiaomi’ sub-brand in China. The specifications of the smartphone included it having a 48-megapixel Samsung GM1 sensor with an f/1.8 aperture in its dual rear camera setup, in addition to the other 5-megapixel sensor.
No announcements have been made whether the 48-megapixel camera phone will be a part of the Realme 3 series or not. But the company was responsible for bringing the Realme 2 and Realme 2 Pro as their two distinct models under one range in the past. It is being said that Realme might also open its exclusive experience stores in India.
CEO Sheth told Indian Express that Realme will also open its exclusive experience stores in the second half of 2019 and is currently working on “structure and principles” and hasn’t found an appropriate location for its first new store.
This looks similar to how companies like OnePlus and Xiaomi ended up expanding their local presence by opening their exclusive experience stores in India.
Realme has the Realme U1, Realme 2, Realme 2 Pro, and Realme C1₹ 7,798 as a part of its product family. But a recent report suggested that the company is all set to expand its existing lineup by adding Realme A1 to their product family. The new model is being speculated to be closer to the Rs. 10,000 mark and will be positioned below the Realme U1.
Last week, Realme announced about having surpassed the mark of having four million users. The company, in May, debuted as an Oppo sub-brand wherein it launched the Realme 1₹ 10,490 as their first smartphone. But the company soon announced separating from Oppo, the Chinese company after it tasted success with their phone Realme 1.
In addition to their smartphones, Realme also sells the Realme Buds headphones, Realme U1 Iconic Case, and the Tech Backpack. They also have plans to expand their offline presence to about 150 cities this year. CMR reports suggested that Realme was one of the top emerging brands in India last year. Flipkart also announced that it sold more than two million Realme 2 phones last year.
